I had high hopes that this disc was what I was looking for and I was not disappointed. Years ago there was a Discraft disc called the MRX which I loved as a reliable approach disc/mid. Throw it flat wide of the target and let it fade gently back in. I’ve been searching for this shot for years and the Kaxe is it!
The K1 plastic is just the right blend of grippy without being tacky, flexible without being stiff or too floppy.
I found it flies true to its flight numbers (this is the 6,4,0,3 Kaxe) and for me is more of a mid range than a fairway although the next comparable disc in my bag is a neutral star Eagle. With a smooth throw (up to speed 6) it will fly straight with a reliable consistent fade. With a bit more power (over speed 6) it has a little turn before fading but not dumping out of its flight. It is also workable on flex lines, fore and backhands.
The downside is that this mold is out of production and the new Kaxes are a 2 fade. Im buying more while there are some left.
