    Description

The Discmania Active Line Mentor is a versatile distance driver designed to optimize the distance players can get by combining a high speed turn and slow speed stability to make a distance driver that can be used by all players. The Mentor gains more turn the faster it is thrown, meaning you can throw harder for more distance or throw softer for a more controlled stable shot.

The Active baseline plastic is the perfect balance between keeping the disc firm as well as soft to the touch meaning the Active baseline plastic always feels comfortable and natural in the hand.

Please note: All Active line discs are 165-170 grams.

    Love the mentor

Just started throwing discs about 3 months ago, absolutely love the reliability of the mentor, aim a bit right and you can guarantee it'll turn right all the way

    My Backup plan

New to discgolf when I bought. Now 1 year on....Bought this along with a starter set but reallly, I shouldn’t have. Personally recommend getting a couple of better quality distance drivers and only using in fields until you can control. A buzzz or even a putter can out drive a beginner arm throwing this disc.
Over a round, a midrange will be better. Good disc to start field work with though as long as you have other discs. Bad habits occurred because of this disc, mainly me trying to use it from day one and yanking it.

I use it occasionally - It’s reliably flippy and I don’t mind losing it ... even though I know exactly what it’s going to do. That being said, I’ve never lost it ;)

A perfect beginner's introduction to distance drivers

Discmania has got the right end of the stick with these Active lines, being a great price point for decently made discs. My first starter pack had a Sensei (good enough for Eagle), Maestro (OS approach for a beginner) Genius (OK, maybe not all the discs were perfect!), Magician (silly good straight fairway) and Mentor. Back when I was a full newbie coming into DG from ultimate, and all I knew to do was throw nose up hyzers for distance, the Mentor actually was forgiving enough of my backswing rounding and stiff muscling of the swing to give me my first 100m throws. Over time, the Active plastic does beat in fairly quickly, about similar to a Jawbreaker plastic by Discraft, and turns this into a flip-up option. The answer for me was to switch to the Premium plastic which feels similar in the hand but is far more resistant to flipping over. Once my technique got better, I was ready to switch to more stable discs, but I would still recommend the Mentor as a friendly understable driver option up to 110m.
